During this workshop we investigated using the Pololu 3Pi robot base as a platform for beginners.  Workshop participants bought the Pololu 3Pi base and learned how to setup the Arduino programming environment on their PC and how to program their 3Pi robot.

The workshop built up to writing a simple line following robot using the sensors that are already on the 3Pi. The workshop was followed up with a line following competition the next week to allow participates to demonstrate what they learned the previous week and the modifications they made for the competition.

Demonstrations included:

• Blinking LED

• Writing to the LCD screen

• Using the pushbuttons and line sensors

• Controlling motors
