During this workshop we went over the fundamentals of computer vision and image processing from both a theoretical stand point to a practical standpoint. The workshop concentrated on computer vision techniques that were useful for robotics projects.

During the workshop, participants that brought their laptop and a webcam were able to install and configured OpenCV and Visual Studio Express on their machine allowing them to run the demo applications provided.

Demo applications included:

• Range finder – using a laser pointer and webcam

• Stereo Vision

• Green screen effect using any background

• Motion Segmentation

• Color segmentation

• Cone tracking
